Oromia State University is in charge of initiating and advancing reforms, which exhibit to transformation in government service delivery system in the region. It has taken part incomprehensive introduction and implementation of various reform tools like Business Process Reengineering (BPR), Balanced Scorecard (BSC), and Citizen Charter etc. in public institutions so far.
Public organizations these days are confronted with environmental forces that shape their service delivery programs. Among which the forces of economic integration of countries of the world are making service delivery a critical issue. Furthermore,ever changing customers’ needs and demands, competition, forces of political and social decisions and public policies and management practices call for a transformed and change oriented public institutions with proactive public sector strategies and programs aimed at exeeding customers needs and expectations in particular and accelerate changes in the socio economic and political scenario of the nation in general.
The institute comprises of three centers:
· Center for Public Sector Reform,
· Center for Professional Competency and HD,
· Center for Productiviy Improvement and Control.
